So I remember when I met Ray. The transplant from Michigan. I was a transpant from Missouri and his sister lived in the house next to ours on Granada. Matt Larson lived across the street, and we knew Ray was alright pretty quickly. Just ask him about the banana story. Anyway, we needed some action on a Friday night, so we pedaled our bikes on up to the Peter Piper Pizza to look for chicks and play some videao games and eat some pizza. Ray decides to tell some mongoloid a few things that apparently upset him. I'm not sure why either. Probably thought he would rescue some girl or something. I thought this ought to be good. This monster was like maybe 17 and had a full beard. Easily 190 to 200 pounds. We were all like these 15 y/o little guys and skinny as you could ever imagine. A 1980's spiked leather jacket fit this other guy pretty well too. I figured this oughta be real interesting. I'm pretty sure I was in a "make love not war mood", but Not Ray, he looks at old big boy and says "lets go"! So out to the parking lot we go, along with the rest of Peter Piper. Ray proceeds to square up with this dude and then beats the everloving crap out of him. Like i figured we might have to help out, or tangle with the friends, but I think they were all just so stunned they had no idea what to do. I believe he borrowed a Sugar Ray Leonard line when it was all over and the legend was born. Then we hauled ass because the cops were closing in and went to the park to mellow. I think.

Dave McCall
